Meet the 2019 Performers
Nikki Lerner

NIKKI LERNER is an artist, teacher, speaker, author and culture coach helping others engage with one another relationally and across culture lines. Her passion is to see people come to an understanding of one another through music, conversation and learn to remain human with each other.
Nikki has produced three recording projects, "Nikki Lerner", "Longings", and "The Things We Never Say (2016).." In
addition to solo performance, Nikki is a working studio session singer and vocal arranger for both Indie artists and commercial interests. She continues to be invited all over the country to serve as an artist vocal coach and speaker on issues of multicultural music, cross-cultural communication, and team-building, and has also released her first co- authored book through Abingdon Press in 2015. John Patti

Four time, including the 2019 Trop Rock Mucic Association “Musician of the Year” winner, JOHN PATTI brings the steel pan to the forefront of musical entertainment with an “island infused jazz and blues” style. Whether solo or collaborating with bands, John’s intriguing stories and skillful performance leaves long lasting and memorable impressions with every
audience. Over the years, John’s popularity has grown internationally for his expressively smooth sound, elevating the steel pan from its perceived impression as just an island instrument to one of versatility across many musical genres. John’s innovative take on the steel pan has taken him on stages with greats like Les Paul in New York City, Nadirah Shakoor at the new Orleans Jazz Festival, the Coral Reefer band in Key West and stadiums around the country performing the National Anthem.
Dion Montéz Jarrett

DION MONTÉZ JARRETT is a Baltimore native and graduate from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC. Currently residing in the Greater New York area, He was last seen as (Thomas) in Amazing Grace the Musical at the World Stage Theatre in DC. In his free time Dion strives to give back to the younger generation with teaching Master Classes in Vocal Performance,
Duane Moody

Tenor, DUANE A MOODY, Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music (Voice) has expounded on a career of international proportions for over three decades. From the international tours as Sportin’ Life in The Gershwins’ Porgy & Bess, the off-Broadway engagement with Three Mo’ Tenors, his sacred recording with the group INSPIRATA, to his self-produced recording project, ‘Sur Mon
Voyage’, Mr. Moody has always kept vocal beauty talent, through artistry first. From his humble beginnings in SE, Washington, DC, it was always about music. From listening to his Father’s old Philly Soul Records, as well as being groomed by the many talented educators who saw his talent early on, music and the arts were a constant element of his life. After receiving degrees from The Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University and Boston University he has made debuts at The Royal Festival Hall (London), Tel Aviv Opera (Israel), Hamburg Staatsoper (Hamburg, Germany), Alte Oper (Frankfurt, Germany), Des Moines Opera, Maryland Lyric Opera, Dayton Opera, New York City Opera (touring company) and has been presented in recital at The Terrace Theatre of The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Washington, DC). Orchestral appearances have been with The Boston Pops, under the direction of Keith Lockhart, The Brockton Symphony, The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, The Indianapolis Symphony, The Spokane Symphony, The Reading Symphony, The Frederick Symphony and the world premiere of Lawrence Reis’ Cantata, “Sea Surface Full of Clouds” with the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic.
